Kahule Church of Uganda welcomes Rev Kakuru and also Thanks the Lord

Yesterday on Sunday, 15th March, 2020 was a great day at Kahule Church of Uganda in Katovu Parish, Lyantonde Archdeaconry as the christians under leadership of Mr. Buyiinza James officially welcomed the new Parish Priest as a sub parish church, Rev. Enock Kakuru and also brought their Thanksgiving to God in commemoration of the six years of Mr. Buyiinza serving as their lay-reader. The congregation glorified The Lord with songs of Praise and Worship and brought in church heavy offertories which we hope pleased The Lord. The Priest, Rev. Kakuru, in his Gospel 2nd Corinthians 13:1++ advised christians to self examine themselves and repent. He promised to serve them with love.
Madam  Olivia Mugabe, the woman aspiring for Member of Parliament Bukoto West Constituency 2021-2026 together with her mother and a few other relatives of hers also graced the occasion.
Olivia Mugabe, in her communication said it is such a great thing to remember to thank The Lord after making any achievement as it is always by The Lord's Grace that we are granted success. She also thanked the congregation for welcoming her every time she pays visit to the church or any gatherings around and requested for prayers and support from everyone. She bought some of the things that were brought in church as offertories and Thanksgiving and promised to keep in unity with Kahule Church of Uganda not only during campaigns but forever.

THE FIGHT AGAINST LOCUSTS IN AFRICA

Following up on the story of locusts in Africa.

One of the commonest stories in the whole world (especially in Africa) is of the deadly locusts that have invaded the continent with Somalia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Eritrea and most recently, Tanzania and Uganda affected most. The story of locusts however started with many especially the local citizens doubting about the possible effects of having the locusts in their areas. In fact, many thought it was a simple challenge that could not leave any big effect. However, the stories which started as simple stories later on turned into seriously bad news as the locusts infested some of the areas referred to and devoured everything as their culture is.

We are so grateful to the governments of the affected countries for the quick responses they gave to the threat for the good of their citizens. We are also grateful to the various organizations especially the United Nations (FAO), The Africa Solidarity Trust Fund, Action Against Hunger, Self Help Africa and several others which have put a lot of effort to support the fight against the threat through conducting research in regard to the threat, spreading information about the threat, funding fight against the threat, helping the affected homes and through several other ways they have assisted.

These deadly insects invaded East Africa in the early February of this year (2020) and as it is their habit, they ate every crop in every area they passed or settled for any day. It is on record that locusts are the worst crop pests that can leave no crop at all if they invade any area. This means that all areas where locusts passed or settled shall face a big challenge of famine, drought and desertification. It is therefore important that everyone responsible takes action to support the affected areas not only in the process of fighting the locusts but also in supporting lives of the affected people.

A plague of locusts has descended on East Africa. Climate change may be to blame.

Human activity has made an ocean circulation pattern misbehave—triggering a weird confluence of events that has caused the infestations.

WHO IS TUMUSIIME JOHNIOUS?

Tumusiime Johnious is a male Ugandan, of Ankore tribe, born of Rev. John Turyamureba Salongo and Mrs. Beneth Turyamureba Nalongo, at Kalagala B Village, Kalagala Parish, Malongo Rural Sub County in Lwengo District. He (Tumusiime Johnious) is a grandson to the late Mr. Muswahili Yonesan (R.I.P) and his wife the late Mrs. Esther Yonesani (R.I.P) who were put to rest at Kalagala B Village, Kalagala Parish, Malongo Rural Sub County, Lwengo District in Uganda.

Tumusiime Johnious was born on Wednesday 14th December, 1994 although 17th December, 1994 is recognized as his birthday. Recognising 17th December, 1994 as his birthday was due to an error that he made during his  registration for his Primary Leaving Examinations (P.L.E) in 2009. However, 14th December, 1994 being a Wednesday and a Market day of Katovu Town made special history in the birth of Tumusiime Johnious and so can't be forgotten at all in his life. However this history was not so much told, it will continue to be remembered that Johnious' aunt (Ms. Kyomugisha Merabu) who was expected to be the person to help Johnious' mother give birth to Johnious (as going to health centres to give birth was not common those days) failed to do so and gave her excuse that since it was a market day, she had to go and sell juice in the market. "I would have helped if it was not a Market day". It was the wife to Hajji Bagala Mugagga that accepted to cancel her plans to visit the market and come to help Beneth to give birth to Johnious. That's why Wednesday is marked as a very important day in the history of Johnious' birth.

Tumusiime Johnious went to Rwamabara Parents Nursery and Primary School for nursery and Primary One and Two (1999 to 2003). He joined Katovu Highway Day and Boarding Nursery and Primary School in 2004 and was made to repeat Primary Two Class after failing the interview. He continued at Katovu Highway and became one of its best learners until 2009 when he completed his Primary Level. Johnious sat his P.L.E at Katovu Church of Uganda Primary School,a government school in Katovu Town Council, Lwengo District, because his school Katovu Highway did not have a centre number at the time. Johnious joined Kaikolongo Seed Secondary School in 2010 but had to leave the school in the following year because of the teasing and bullying that had become a big threat to his health. Johnious joined Rwamabara Parents Primary School which was located at Rwamabara Church of Uganda where his father was serving as the Parish Priest. However, Johnious never loved Rwamabara Parents Secondary because it was not his choice to study from there but the last resort. He dedicated himself to writing on Patriotism and bullying instead of reading his books. In September, 2011, Johnious was given a scholarship by the Anglican Diocese of West Buganda, Church of Uganda and he was asked to choose a school where to go. Because he did not know any school that was free from teasing and bullying, Johnious chose to go back to Kaikolongo Seed where he had had that there teasing and bullying had reduced because the Head Teacher, Mr. Sserwanja Joe MUKASA had learnt about it and increased security officials with new instructions. In 2013 Johnious completed his Ordinary Level. During his Ordinary Level, Johnious dedicated all his efforts in peace keeping, Patriotism, prefecture, writing and clubs activities more than reading his academic books which affected his performance at the final assessment by the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) in the UCE. Johnious adds that he failed UCE the day he joined Rwamabara Parents Secondary School because he found too much confusion between the teaching at Kaikolongo Seed and that at Rwamabara Parents SS, as Rwamabara Parents SS did not have any qualified teachers except the Head Teacher and their teaching methodology was totally confusing to him who had already tested the right teaching at Kaikolongo Seed. However, he adds that when he went back to Kaikolongo Seed he could not again catch-up because his fellows were already ahead of him. Johnious joined Kabulasoke Core Primary Teacher's College in 2014 where he dedicated much of his efforts in leadership and used his powers as a guild minister to fight teasing of the first years by the second year students without knowledge of the college admission. He left Kabulasoke Core PTC in December 2015 after completion of his Grade Three Teacher's Certificate and his results were released in July 2016 and he had passed though not with excellent grades. Johnious joined Kampala University Masaka Campus immediately after receiving his results and started his diploma course in Primary Education with Subjects English Language and Social Studies.
